Advertising with number plates
Castrol have come up with clever advertising signs which display your vehicles registration number, read from your number plates along with the correct type of oil for your engine. Roadside cameras recorded number plates before flashing their registration on to screens and revealing the grade of oil recommended for use in the car’s engine.The information they are using comes from the DVLA and some groups are up in arms over the release of the data for markleting purposes. The camapign was halted after just 4 days after safety issues were raised and the legality of the scheme questioned. The information commissioner is lokking into it.
